Huge fire has broken out in the forests of the North African country of Algeria. The fire spread so fast that 30 people died due to it and several other missing. Algerian Interior Minister Kamel Beldjoud said 30 people were killed and dozens injured in forest fires in 14 districts of northern Algeria. The army has closed many roads due to the fire. Fire has broken out at 39 places in 14 districts of the country.
At least 24 people have been killed in a fire in El Tarf, near the Tunisia border. Fire broke out at 16 places in the worst-hit El Tarf area. Nothing is left there. The fire was so fierce that people were seen running from their homes in Souk Ahras, near Algeria's border with Tunisia. Fire helicopters were deployed to control the fire but by then the fire had spread.
According to officials, four people were burnt to death in Souk Ahras and 41 others had difficulty in breathing. 350 residents were rescued from the fire. Similarly, two people died due to the fire in Setif. Since the beginning of August, there have been 106 fire incidents in Algeria. Because of all these, more than 2,500 hectares of forest have been destroyed.
