Janmashtami 2022: Lord Shri Krishna has a very deep relation with eight number

The Prakatya festival of Lord Krishna is celebrated on the Ashtami date of the Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. Lord Krishna is known by names like Kanhaiya, Shyam, Gopal, Keshav, Dwarkesh or Dwarkadhish, Vasudev etc. Lord Shri Krishna was a selfless Karmayogi, ideal philosopher, situated wise and a great man with divine wealth. He was born in Dwapara Yuga. Lord Krishna is considered to be adept in 16 arts. Lord Krishna has a very deep relationship with eight numbers. 


Eighth incarnation of Vishnu

Shrihari According to Hindu religious beliefs, Lord Shri Krishna Shrihari is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. According to the Puranas, Vishnu is the ten incarnation of God. The eighth incarnation of these incarnations is that of Lord Krishna. The ten incarnations of Vishnu include Matsya Avatar, Kurma Avatar and Varaha Avatar, Narasimha Avatar, Vamana Avatar, Parashurama Avatar, Sri Ramavatar and the eighth Avatar Krishna Avatar.


The Eighth child of Vasudev and Devaki

Lord Shri Krishna Maharaj is the eighth child of Vasudev and his wife Devaki. Devaki is the sister of King Kansa. The people of Mathura were stricken by the tyranny of Kansa. Kansa came to know through Akashvani that only the eighth child of his sister would kill him. On learning this, Kansa imprisoned his sister Devaki and Vasudeva and brutally murdered their seven children. Since Lord Shri Krishna was an incarnation of Shri Hari. So all the circumstances became favorable for him.


Born on the eighth date of Bhadrapada month Lord Krishna was born on the eighth day of Bhadrapada month. Lord Madhav was not only the eighth child of his parents. He was also born on the eighth tithi and the eighth prahar of midnight.

Lord Keshav has special bonding in eight cities 

Lord Krishna has eight cities very dear. His whole life was spent between these cities. These include Gokul, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Nandgaon, Barsana, Mathura, Sanket and Dwarka.
